Tulum diving center

Hi!

I am planning to go to Tulum on the november for cave diving. Maybe someone know the best place in Tulum for rent doubles (I'm looking steel doubles if it possible) for me and for 2 my friends. Also I'm looking fill station in Chacalal -Akumal area.

I just got back from Mexico yesterday. We used Zero Gravity and couldn't be happier. $10/day to rent doubles + V weight and gas is sold by the cubic foot for basically the same price as in Florida. It's a little north of Tulum, but also near several caves.

If you're staying in Tulum, Protec will be much more convenient than Zero Gravity. You'd have to drive north and then double back for most of the caves. Protec has a wonderful facility with a modern fill station. They banks 32% and I like that they had a CO analyzer on hand. I'm not too sure who has steel doubles for rent. I know Natalie at Diablo Divers had one set of steel 130s, but it sounds like you need 3. Saying that, since most of the formations are shallow, you can get nice long dives with a set of Al80s and, if you want, a stage or two.

We tried to go to Protec this weekend...gate was closed and the sign said ring doorbell on other side, no doorbell, it was broken off. No one responded to a few hellos.

I would agree with you that Steel doubles aren't a huge plus-- I've done 4hr dives with doubles + 2 stages, or 3 hours with doubles + 1 stage.

ProTec is IMO the best, super cool facility, any gas fills on the spot, guiding, close to caves, open late etc
I use them everytime I go to Mexico. Also close to evwtyting in Tulum too

It's still low season for them jj. I'd assume if you didn't make arrangements with them the day before, then they'd go out diving themselves. They're all active explorers.

Xibabalba hotel is in town and they have their own fill station, Nice rooms too, Robbie has good knowledge of the area since he has been exploring the caves for many years.
