Cave Heaven is almost across the street if ProTec isnt there.
I dove exclusively wet but it depends on your tolerance. Water temp: 78°F/26°C. Surface temp: hot.

For 2 of my trips to Mexico, a buddy has worn a wetsuit and I've dove dry. Neither time has either of us been uncomfortable. For my dry suit I just wear under armor, no real undergarments and an old hood which has been compressed on some deeper dives.

I've been happy with a 5mm wet suit and hooded vest.

14 days X 2 dives a day. 5 hours in water every day, it adds up. Dry suit was good but it was hot gearing up.

I just got back from Mexico yesterday. We used Zero Gravity and couldn't be happier. $10/day to rent doubles + V weight and gas is sold by the cubic foot for basically the same price as in Florida. It's a little north of Tulum, but also near several caves.

+1 for Zero G. Very professional operation. Will be using them next trip.

I have worked as a freelance for both of them, nice people all around.

I have always used wetsuit, semidry, 5mm and 7mm. Been diving with friends who use drysuit, but they sweat their balls off suiting up...

I couldn't have been happier with Adam at Cave Heaven (in Tulum)
I will be using him again when I go back down

I just did sidemount AL80's when I went. The caves are shallower there and those will take you a LONG way.
He had pretty much everything cave related though...BCs lights, tanks, etc.
I just took a harness and my basic gear (for open water fun) and he got me a sidemount rig, can light, etc for all the cave stuff.
