killer bacteria in FL saltwater

I also saw a segment on the news about how part of the intra-coastal on FL eastern side has lots of "algae" growing in it.

yeah this stuff is nasty and gets people sick (and kills) several people every year, primarily in Florida.

Fairly common in Louisiana waters. There's been several reports of wade fisherman needing amputations within hours of stepping on an oyster shell. I didn't see if they named the bacteria but I know vibriosis is typically indicated in Louisiana

there was a series of it in Louisiana after Katrina. It is common in the gulf of Mexico. Florida sees cases every year. It's nasty and is antibiotic resistant. Yuck.
