Being that a Hydro is hydraulic and I don't think compressible gasses are involved, your only dealing with the elasticity of the metal, It shouldn't be that big a deal even if a vessel ruptured.

I have... we used to be a hydro facility. It's not a big deal at all. Albeit a bit wet.

What sort of maintenance has to be done to keep the purifiers working properly?

Drain the traps, change the filters, test the air. If the compressor starts using a lot of oil, it probably needs rings. It will blow some oil by, and thats normal. You will see the oil in the condensate traps when you drain them. Lap the valves every 100 hours or so.

Ger the OP to give you the model number off the compressor, and you can probably look up parts online. Ingersoll's are pretty easy.

This is an IR model #223. Two corrections to the initial post, it has a 5HP 3ph motor and it is a 3 stage compressor.

Routine maintenance is changing the filter at recommended intervals, with the 65,000 cu ft capacity that is upwards of 150 hrs, along with draining the condensate valves during operation. Also routine compressor maintenance includes changing the oil, checking the function of the safety pressure valves, and air testing.

Routine maintenance is pretty basic and any mechanically inclined person can easily learn how to do it. I have the owners manuals, which describe all aspects of installation and maintenance.

Cylinders have been sold, thanks to everyone who inquired. Compressor is available.
