Jim, post your Facebook picture of the rock here. It may not be a great picture, but it gets the point across about the rock not being stable. Maybe a cable and a 4x4 could tumble it out of the way, if not drag it out.
So, this entire system is way beyond my level, but I'm actually really glad this happened. I was lamenting to my girlfriend the other day that CDF had been boring lately. And then this happened! Now CDF is interesting again. It's unfortunate that the traverse is impassable now. But that's the price for good entertainment, I suppose. You know your life is good when your biggest problem is "CDF has been boring lately".
Please do not litter. I am heavily armed.
Wow, Jim, that bottom image looks really scary. The big rock looks perched, very unstable-y, on two little rocks
Land of Enchantment -- not so great for cave diving, but mighty scenic!
It appears in the interest of safety the rock is going to need to be encouraged to move down the slope. how that is going to happen is up to you line committee guys I guess Ain't that what you get paid for..... grin....![]()

Talk about an amazing engineering feat! The time lapse is pretty cool.

Anyone can move it. Can it be done safely is the question.
