Does anyone have the details on the proposed changes to the management plan? I contacted Mr. Liney for a copy of the agenda, but all it says is "Presentation of Proposed Management Plan".

I'm all for the solo diving. Since I retired and went to using a rebreather my buddies are getting fewer and fewer. The retirement home just has so few wanting to dive.

I am wondering what brought about this meeting?
I am getting that twitchy feeling again........NO GOLF COURSES!
Wish I was closer, I would definitely attend.

All state parks have a management plan that is done on 10 year intervals, and this is SOP. When ever a new management plan is put into place, the public is allowed to put in input. I have read the draft version since I sit on the advisory panel, and promise you no plans for golf courses or huge developments like that. The park genuinely wants to hear from the users when finalizing the plan, and the public meeting will have a nice presentation, with the ability to make comments.

Doubt you will ever see that, and that comes from Tallahassee. Many rules regarding diving coming from entry level scuba, and at this point the buddy system is promoted. Solo diving is counter to what entry level scuba teaches,so it is doubtful you will get the park system to change. I have given it my best effort to educate on the use of scooter diving in state parks, because when done right it can promote conservation. The state feels that scooters cause damage to the caves, and we are the best source of this information if you search the forums.
