Any predictions as to state of Ginnie, Little River, Peacock by September?
Hi, Just about to book flights from UK to Tampa to revisit cave country next month when checked and saw posts re state of Peacock and Little River. Any thoughts as to what the state of the caves will be by mid September? Anyone with a crystal ball to predict state of Ginnie, Little River and Peacock by then or should we just delay our trip until next Spring? Grateful for any thoughts? Pete & Judy
This has been a very unusual,although much needed rainy summer. North Florida and South Georgia have been getting lots of rain,which is causing very high river levels. There is a slow and steady dropping of river levels right now,and and we should see some places open soon. The big unknown is the tropical season which covers September. If we get a hurricane,then we could see the springs blow out again. More likely you will find some place to dive,but you may have to be more flexible,and don't depend on specific places.Originally Posted by Pete

Thanks Jim, that is what I was thinking. I was also told that the Ear is closed as well. Is that true?

The ball at the ear was 6 inches underwater a couple of days ago. But the river is dropping slowly.
Has there been much improvement at Peacock?
It was blowing tannic water out of P1 a few days ago.
Don't know if it's too far to be considered "Lake City area" but Manatee is open and in decent condition.
