So what was the outcome on the Mako? I have one and need a new battery- would love to know the run times, displacement weight and drivetrain impact of these alternate batteries! Cost?

Me too. Would like increased burn time with a couple led ponds so I can trim the scooter with weights.

I am looking to buy a used Sierra or N-19 and batteries on these do tend to be old and tired, and original Ni-Mh packs expensive. I know Ping make a 25Ah LiFe pack for the Sierra and will make one for anything they're given specs for - and have raving reviews - but not everyone wants to import one from China (think warranty work if you're local vs shipping dangerous goods back and forth to China). Are there any specs for these two scooters in regards to power and price?
I went on the Ping website and didn't see anything concerning this battery you mention. Do you have more info on it?

Yes they're compatible. Of course you need 2. You can't wire them in series like the stock SLA batteries. You have to charge the batteries separately because of the BMS in each battery pack, but you connect them in series with a Y adapter to the motor lead.

I asked Chris about this on a dive last month and he said he just didn't have time to build the batteries for the Hollis and Mako.
