Slim, I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm sure it'll take some time to come to grips with it all. Others have posted some fine words. There's nothing more I can say, but to send some big virtual hugs.
Land of Enchantment -- not so great for cave diving, but mighty scenic!
My condolences Slim. Mere words cannot describe the sorrow I feel for your loss.
"Is this thing on?"
Aww Slim, condolences on your loss. My heart goes out to you and I completely understand your pain. Take care of yourself and stay busy. Talk to friends and family who will listen, repeatedly. Keep putting one foot in front of the other, take time to "check out" here and there, but get back into moving forward as soon as possible. Keep moving, ask your God for help, and know we're out here lifting you up now, and as you continue on this journey.
There are 3 kinds of people in this world; those who are good at math, and those who are not.
I was floored when I got the news Slim, as it brought back the memories of the loss of my best friend and love of my life. It will be 10 yrs Oct 10 since she has been gone and I miss her as much now as ever. It's not an easy thing and you will never totally get over it. You learn to cope day by day. I had to struggle to focus at first, but I managed to keep my head on straight for the most part. I was determined to find a new dream. I wanted to make "T" proud of me for what I would accomplish. We were an adventurous couple and we shared many thrills during our 13 ys together, but now the adventure was mine alone. I was determined to go on and do and see things I would have never imagined possible. For several months I tried to figure out what that adventure would be...Then a friend of mine said, "I've always wanted to scuba dive". Two weeks later I was starting my open water class and I've never stopped diving since. It's now a passion that helps to fill the void, and YES... Sometimes I do hear her voice and see her smile as she says to me, "Coop, I'm so proud of you". That is the nickname she started calling me when we first met. I know she would be or IS happy to know that I learned to live again...AND it truly is an exciting adventure!
Danielle was a sweet girl and I'm happy that I had the privilege to meet her and share some times with you all at the Hole In The Wall House.

Slim, my deepest condolences to you and Danielle's family. Please lean on family and friends. Take your time. It's a long road to healing. My hope and prayers are that you have as many wonderful friends as I do to help you through this. God Bless.
SLIM,
You know we are always here for you. I am still trying to put it into focus. On the Friday before, you called about doing a dive...but, I am in the middle of a bathroom remodel...Danielle was listening in the background and jumped on...you just have to go diving with Slimmy...he is crawling the walls...well, I do need a break...she even gave me some tiling tips to get me back on schedule...so we dove and then the following Thursday she was in the hospital and by Sunday she left us. I am sure it will be a long time for both you and her family to grasp this. She certainly had a lot of friends as evidenced by the 300+ at the services and huge crowd of pirates at Waxy's on Wednesday night. I don't think any us can believe it. I'll miss you guys stopping over at the house when you all came up to St. Louis and I'll miss the escapades at HnW we shared with her. She was unique, bubbly and fun.
Anytime time buddy...
Jim
