I noticed in another thread that one of your students made NAUI Cave instructor sometime between now and not quite two years ago, when he had yet to make his first cave dive. I don't believe this person was an OW instructor at the time. How much teaching experience can have occurred in that time frame? I realize there are some exceptional people, but I have to say I'm skeptical that this situation is ideal.

Sorry I should of been more specific. I first did IANTD CCR cave instructor course. I looked into a lot of CCR Cave programs and although IANTDs standards were not perfect I mostly agreed with them. In this instructor course I had to work as an intern and be evaluated by more than one IT.

I have certs through multiple tech agencies and enjoy teaching TDI most often. Theirs are the tech classes where I wish you had to work with two ITs.

honestly Hunter is exceptional. He did more dives in 4 years than most cqve divers do in 10 while not just doing med school but doing it well enough to get a residency at Duke... They were also longer deeper than most do.He would be the first to tell you about poor quality instruction, in fact it was the contrast between a class I was teaching and he was taking that lead to him diving with me. His ability to learn is quick enough by itself to make him enemies..the fact he likes stirring the pot just adds to his charm...lol. Seriously I am 100% confident in his ability to teach a superb class, in fact if he ends up doing it often he will easily be better than me. Take a look at who he has sought out for mentors and ask them about Hunter, I think you'l find that the cover doesn't match the book.

by the way I bet if there was a accreditation process non agency specific it would be like waving a red flag in front of a pissed off bull. Hunter would take it in a second to prove something to himself.
