That's all meaningless without knowing the quality of Hunter's instruction... And since I'm sure you can find many crap instructors that look good on paper, it's really meaningless either way. I could care less if any of my cave instructors ever made a open water dive, or open water diver.

I'm not implying anything about the quality of his instruction. Just wondering about what's possible. If he's willing to share the timeline & stats, it would be interesting to me.

    • Date of OW certification
    • Date of DM certification, with number of dives to date at that time
    • Date of OW instructor certification, # of dives to date
    • Date of Cavern cert
    • Date of Intro cert, with # of cavern dives
    • Date of Full cave cert, with # of cave dives at Intro level
    • Date of AN/DP certification
    • Date of Trimix certification
    • Date of Cavern instructor certification, with # of open water students you'd certified to date at the time
    • Date of Cave instructor certification, with # of cavern students you had certified at that time
I know that's kind of a lot, but I'm imagining it would be fairly quick to pull the information from your log book. I don't mean to come across as interrogating you, it just seems like your progression has gone along at quite a clip, I'm wondering what kind of time spans are possible.

    Thanks,
    Eric

Well, what's more interesting is that if I'm not mistaken, there was a thread about this guy with the subject of: "Is this the next waynes world incident" or something to that affect. This guy is a cave instructor now? HOLY CRAP!

I might take up a new hobby.

I would have put NACD card, but I have yet to receive it - don't know why it takes so long... I got my TDI just a week after full cave cert - so that is the one that I put on the dashboard since my temporary NACD card is about to expire.

    Cheers, JP

It is your last day... What are you doing today?

Mine took a while also, but it was well worth the wait. The NACD red cards are absolutely beautiful, IMO

    My card is TDI
My instructor is a well known guy in cave country and just knows everyone, and I mean EVERYONE. Not sure how many or which agencies he teaches for (I think both NACD and NSS-CDS, is that possible?), but I know it is not just TDI, I can't remember the conversation but I know we talked about which agency we were going to use, and TDI was chosen, wish I could remember the reason, but it did not matter to me since the instruction and the class (aside from the academics) would have been the same anyways.

I do remember however, feeling that a NACD/NSS-CDS card would be cooler, would have more "weight", more accreditation to it, they seemed more like the real deal to me, even though what matters is that I LEARNED how to cave dive and not just gained another c-card, I can't help but feel that I would be a lot more proud to flash either a NACD or NSS-CDS card.

Now, with that said, what I really want is take a GUE cave class, just need to find $$$time$$$ for it.
