    Default Your thoughts ..

I was inspired by a phone call I placed to a CDS Member and friend. During this phone call he thanked me for asking his opinion/assessment of The State of Affairs of the NSS CDS.

My response was "I wish I could call everyone up on the phone and ask them their opinion"

After I had finished the phone call I wanted to reach out to as many people as possible to ask them this question:

In your opinion, what can be done to make the NSS CDS better?

I look forward to hearing from you....

Focus on the original mission of the CDS.

Can you offer specific ways to do this? The mission statement is large and encompassing.

    Thank you for your input.

Thank God someone finally asked. There are so many things that would make it better, such as:

1 - Better door prizes. How about a week for 2 at a Club med resort, or a gift certificate for 20 lap dances at the Cheetah in Palm Beach.
2 - Get a new logo, something that is new and exciting, like knockoff a picture of a Bieber looking little asexual creep cave diving or something, everyone seems to like that little wad.
3 - Monster truck sponsorship. Stick a line arrow on something that is jumping over a bunch of cars, I mean besides Crawford chasing drunk girls at Ginnie.
4 - Buy some more property. Screw the swamps, get beachfront in Andros, close to Middle Bight. Caves, sun, rum punch, what could be better?
5 - New rules - no one is allowed to look like they just came from Duck Dynasty.

I have many more, like chunky crayfish ice cream at the socials, but I have to run. TaTa. (Speaking of tatas, wet t shirt contests. Guys with the biggest moobies win.)

Was that a reference to my beard?

Anyway, I think that we need to focus primarily on conservation, and education (not instruction--but education to the public about the importance of underwater caves and the aquifer).

My crystal ball says focus on conservation, education, and exploration. It's the NSS way.

I also agree that quality of our training program needs to be maintained if we are to use it to promote or fund the organization.

I think Brett summed it up. Hold instructors accountable for the students they create and bi-annual reviews. Accountability, education and getting back to what it original purpose was for.
