Default Blind Creek Canyon Sink, Buford Sink, Eagle's Nest

Blind Creek Canyon Sink, Buford Sink, Eagle's Nest images and video

I have added some images and video clips from this past weekend's visits to Blind Creek Canyon Sink (a simply beautiful place), Buford Sink, and Eagle's Nest to the AUE website. There are a few minor rendering issues I had with the new software, and the editing is not as slick as I would like, but they are good enough for internet viewing. We had a lot of light to work with, so they should prove to be mildly entertaining.
They are linked on the trip reports page.
    Cheers,
    Mike

The video clip is actually on the way out, but we went back to just short of the Dome Room I believe.

I can't wait to dive Eagles Nest. I should be there in a couple weeks.

Does the Blind Creek Canyon sink have a divable cave?

    Backmount... no.

    sdenney:

If you've never dived Eagles Nest before, you should dive it with someone who has. Don't plan on penetrating more than 400' - 500' the first time. This is a very deep cave system that needs getting slowly used to. A dive longer than 25 - 30 minutes will result in a very long decompression obligation. And don't use AIR!

You and I need to plan a dive at Buford Sink.

    Default Budford Sink

Very nice video footage. I noticed the divers in Buford Sink were using single tank configurations. Is that because it is too hard to drag a set of doubles to the sink? Also, how far is the total walk from where you leave the truck to the actual sink?

1/4 mile walk down a tram road (dirt road) then another 200 yards through swamp which you can sink up to your nuts, more so with heavy doubles.

Then again, I have seen people hoof it there in doubles only to say that if they ever go back, it will be with a single tank...

A single high-volume steel tank would seem the way to go, considering the dive profile and the long trek to get there.

A small deco bottle of O2 wouldn't hurt either.
