This isn’t really news, but I hadn’t seen it posted elsewhere on here. There is a really good article in the March 18, 2013 issue of The New Yorker on Florida sinkholes, cave diving, and society’s impact on the aquifer. One of the best articles I’ve seen on these topics, and especially refreshing that it is in a publication with readership of more than a million. If you don’t subscribe, or know someone who does, I suspect you can find a copy of it in your public library.
