My favorite is the Fiat Spyder. two seater, 850 cc rear engine, four speed manual. I owned three and managed to keep one of them running most of the time from parts from the other two. 0-60 in two or three minutes. but once you got up to speed there was little reason to brake or downshift - just hang on and steer. It was so low and so wide and short that you could slide sideways around hairpin corners and never leave your lane. I used to drive under parked semi-trucks at the truck stop just to impress the locals - right before "speeding away," having it choke and sputter and stop cold. That really amused the truckers. I was always getting stopped by the police - just so they could look at the tiny little thing. We killed a lot of cats on country roads in those cars and thank goodness the deer stayed away or I wouldn't be here to write this! There may have been one or two excursions that it brought us home, but I don't remember any. About the time we'd turn for home it would die and leave us miles out somewhere unknown on small asphalt road and not another car or person for miles around. I used to take full repair toolbox, jack stands, parts, but after getting wise I replaced it all with a backpack, water, food, umbrella, and hiking boots. No cell phones in them days.

As a kid I attended Castle Heights Military Academy, the Commandant of the school had a Fiat Spider. Last night before my Senior graduation a bunch of us carried it into main building and up to the fourth floor. I never did hear how he got it down, they were tiny cars and didn't weigh much, still carrying it up stairs, even wide ones was quite a trick.
Main building is now the city hall for the town of Lebanon Tn.
