This is a prefect example of brain atrophy that sets in when you do not dive enough to feed your neurons sufficient O2 under pressure. You go and do stupid things, like buying a MG (Merciless Garbage). Of course, with small children you would not want to buy a crotch rocket, unless you purchase the life insurance to go with it, so, you find a MG (Much Garbage). Worse, instead of a classic MG (Money Guzzler) like a TD (Termite Den), you buy a MGB (Might Go Backwards).

Oh Well, at least he didn't buy a MINI. (Moron Inside, Notably Insane).

Do you know why Brits drink warm beer?
The Lucas motto: "Get home before dark."

As a long time Land Rover owner, (with one having been made in 1964), I'm well aware and even like the old Lucas saying of "A gentleman does not motor about after dark." Good, classic stuff.
My mechanic once asked me if I knew why Englishmen like to drink warm beer. I said no, why? And he said because they used Lucas parts on their refrigerator's compressor.
FYI: Bosch has been used on Land Rovers for many years now.

Only one? Everyone knows you buy British cars in pairs. (One to drive while the other one's in the shop.)

This reminds me of my old Triumph Trophy 500 - a motorcycle for those who prefer working on them to riding them.

Long time ago when I used to race bikes for a living, we were hauling butt around a corner at night in Americus Ga, me on a Brit bike when the headlight got REAL bright, sort of a white light, then flash, and darkness. It's amazing the clarity of thought you have when suddenly tossed into darkness at 100 mph.
I stayed on pavement even though I was going entirely on memory.
Rectifier went out, sending the full current the generator could make through the electrical system.
It doesn't take a Genius to realize one headlight on a bike is pretty stupid.
