    Default Troy Springs State Park

Troy Springs has reopened to diving and swimming, it's been a year except for 3 weeks earlier in the year, go and enjoy before the next flood.
    Janet

PS I'll be picking the grim reaper shirts up today, they will be available at PSSP later today.

Yes , I did get the pic !!! Thank you ...
John and I dove Troy yesterday (2 dives Tuesday afternoon).
Vis was good to very good... Cavern had better viz than the basin did (less
    particulates blowing around).
The vents down by the cave are really pumping !!!
It was like Alexander Springs with a really NASTY attitude ...
(Sand in your hair after the dive ... etc )
We saw the ship out in the spring run pretty easily but only about 1/2 of it was showing. There is still about an inch or two of silt on top of the ribs closest to the river.
The run was clear almost out to the bouy line in the river so the springs/vents are starting to blow the tannic water quite a ways now...

I could see all the way across the basin pit (30 feet or so) and I could see objects at 60 feet pretty good from the surface. That should give you an idea about the current viz...

And I DIDN"T EVEN THINK about poking my head into that little cave entrance down there. Not that I even could with my back-mounts...

    Thanks again!

    Default Royal...

    Norm:
I was a Royal about a week and a 1/2 ago ... Viz was about 30 feet in the basin and a little bit better in the cavern...
I noticed the spring was really blowing up from the rock on the left side of the cavern...(Pushing the sand up on the back wall)
