At the rate the river is dropping, the current will be ripping. It also shouldn't take long for it to clear out.

I talked with the park manager today and he said the basin is still brown. The USGS station at Pinetta (North of Madison) left the action stage level around last Tuesday, and now Madison river level is dropping. Presently conditions aren't good enough for diving, but lets give it a few days. Also,we want to be wary of the alert that has posted.

    Sounds like Niagara River water!

By the time the Great Lakes empty into Niagara Falls, the water has already been THRU the toilets of Chicago, Detroit, Toledo, Cleveland and Erie.

The old "Tom Lehrer" song comes to mind...

West Coast: "The breakfast garbage you throw into the Bay.... They drink at lunch in San Jose..."

Our gage shows 4 inches of rain last night; we are about 10 miles NW of Live Oak.

That is actually a good thing. Rain in GA, and none in FL is what causes reversals.

Rain in GA causes the aquifer to go up. Couple weekends go myself just about blown out of a GA cave that has usually been very tame.
