Catfish has been open to open water only since Last Friday, the spring has not looked this clear in months. Had approximately 40-50 open water students in Catsfish spring Sat-Sun and based on the latest call today looks are very promising that the management will open the caves this week. The flow is also up between Catfish and Manatee since Friday and there is no tannic water in catfish at all... Hope this helps those at least wanting to dive Catfish or have a nice cavern dive.

I look forward to hearing how the caves are JC. I might also go back there this week once they open the caves back up, as I bet Friedman sink back to the Pillar room would be crystal clear.

I met with the park manager this morning and Manatee Spring is now open to Cave Diving. The reason for the recent closure was that the spring was on the verge of reversing into the cave. The river has crested and the spring boil is nice and clear. Flow at this time appears moderate. I won't comment much on the scooter issue at this time other than to say I believe this issue will be resolved shortly and will be favorable for us cave divers. Safe Diving!

    Right off of their website.

Manatee Springs State Park is now OPEN to swimming and diving. Usher boat ramp remains closed due to flooding conditions. Please check back to this website or call 352-493-6072 for current conditions.
