Just out of curiosity, why do you tie your line all the way out the water? At peacock I always run a line from the rock just outside the opening, to the main line. Is that not sufficient? I am a new cave diver so am trying to get as many details as possible. Thanks

In the event that there is a huge change in water conditions that does not allow for ambient light and a clear path back up to the surface.

Yes, I've seen zero visibility two feet below the surface.

I did that at Jackson Blue about 4 years ago. The basin was pea soup. We had to tie the line to the ladder so we wouldn't lose each other going in!
