How do this light compare to the Light Dude light?

I have this 35W HID, its great and makes up my Primary light at this point

Its a good question but the best answer really depends on the diving you do, there are pro's and cons of each:

for Northeast DIving, green water, water with particulate, the color temp of the HID is a clear winner, the HID is also a little better for video, it is adjustable and you can swap reflectors underwater for video work provided you have at least a 35W light, the 21W isnt bright enough for anything but tight places.

Light Monkey is without question the best HID mfg in the world, the customer service defines the gold standard and is something every business should aspire to be.

I test dove Bobby's light have met Bobby twice and really like his product the 2600 throws light differently then an HID and the color temp is different, in clear cave water the light is amazing, signaling takes a day or so to work out....just remember slow and big and you will be fine, in water with particulate drop the setting and extend your arm off to one side. LED are much more durable then HID's, my solis 1250 has withstood 20 foot drops on concrete

My LED primary needs updating and will be a UWLD or a Heinricks Weinkamp 50W LED.

this is an HID and all the light dude lights are LED, but as far as lumens, this is a 3000 lumen light compared to the ULD best light which is 2600 lumens. Great light and at the current price, you can't beat it.

I have the same light, and if I could afford this one at the moment, I would be all over it. It's an amazing light. I have dove with ULD lights that my partners had. They kept up pretty good with this light. Mine was slightly brighter, but theirs was very close.

Go to uwlightdude.com and see for yourself. The light test will amaze even diehard HID folks. Look before you buy.

I think you quoted the wrong guy! I have dove with my light next to the UWLD lights. They are phenomenal lights. I would love to own two of them. However, I still stand by my statement.

    From my perspective,
The HID is focusable, has a video reflector available and I think the color temp works a little better for video and "cuts" through poor vis better.
But, it has a HUGE battery, is somewhat more fragile, has only one level / burn time and can't be used out of the water
It's not a Ford / Chevy thing, I think they are two very different lights, but it takes at least the 35W HID to equal the UWLD 26, a 21W HID ain't even close.
Now a 50W HID is a different animal
