Magnus. As Russell calls it "Stupid Fast".

Lightweight. Long burn times. Less stable in the water than the UV-26.

    Remember "Stupid Fast"......

    Ambidextrous controls?

2 hands are better than 1.

    Tony,

if you think a Magnus is fast you may want to try a Genesis.

Poseidons reputation comes from cold water performance. One of my dive partners uses Scuba Pro regulators, and they work fine, but he has them slathered full of silicon to keep them from free flowing. The model everyone hated was the Thor (I have two of them). They were real violent breathers in shallow water, but great at 200 feet on air.
In 25 years on Thor, Oden, and Extreem, I have had zero problems, but feel they require special knowledge to use and tune.

So, what your saying is that you don't feel like you are going to drown everytime you take a breath from one?

If you were getting a "wet breathe" with a Poseidon--it needed work. I own a dozen Poseidon regs (Cyklon, Jetstream/Odin) and have never had any issues with a wet breather except where I had a bad servo in an Odin. Poseidon's performance at depth is phenomenal (I've used Cyklons w/air at 180'--awesome performance). However, with high tank pressure (above 3600 psi) in shallow water it takes a little effort to breathe.

Sooooo.... Back on track... Are the Gavins that are out there for sale right now made of the same parts that SS uses? I mean if the motor is rewound, is that gonna be the same as what would be in a SS scooter? and what about the seals, clutch, prop adjuster, etc.... As far as the handle goes I imagine Fabbing up something like the SS hand control would not be a huge deal if that's the only major difference.

    Not at all!
But then I know how to clear a flooded exhaust hose on the 1959 DA Aquamaster shown in the avatar to the left
