we feature the blue abyss on the Mexican Underworld Vol.2 below is the video, a really mind blowing dive and IMO a must dive.

We filmed this in two days, day one we filmed up to the Blue Abyss jump then on day two we took stages and filmed the actual blue abyss, if I remember correctly when I got to the jump I still had air left, the next day dropped stages at the jump and I had basically two full tanks to do the dive. I think it was about 10 mins swimming time to get from the jump to the Abyss.

Not sure which line we took but I do remember there was only one jump.

Actually it's closer to 250 to the bottom, as for the Map, good luck finding one I couldn't when I was there in July. The vinyl maps are SO nice though, I picked up a few different ones. I wish the FL maps were made of that material.

    A beautiful video!

And in my opinion, any video that opens with a dog is going to get a thumbs up!

As a pastor I am amazed that some of my best communions with God are when I am in the underworld!

    Also, to Phillip1:

I had to remove a tank and squeeze my body through that restriction... You obviously don't put as much "stretch" on your neoprene. as I said in my narrative, I have a bit more natural insulation.

Not quite off topic I hope:

The Nohoch Nah Chich map is available from the NACD online store. You may not see it on their web site, just ask for it. The map has been in their inventory for many years. Eric Hutcheson is the cartographer, and many of you may know Eric.

The Nohoch map is a great map, it is based on the early surveys of the cave. It is well worth your effort to contact the store and have them make a b/w paper copy for you. The NACD does not print on the same materials that QRSS offers, but we do all our printing in Mexico. QRSS cannot print the original Nohoch Nah Chich map at this date.

The map includes the popular Pet Cemetery entrance. Just learn the cave first and you will find whatever you would like to see from whatever entrance you use. You can drive to most any entrance now.

Eric mentioned that he is considering an update to the map using more data that he and Mike Madden collected. I sure hope that this will happen. Perhaps QRSS will be able to offer a copy to everyone, let's see what happens.

    Jim
