Your individual answers are confidential, and cannot be traced back to you. Like a voting machine, all that gets reported are the totals from each column.

You didn't give your name, and IP addresses cannot be traced to their individual owner very easily without a search warrant to the internet provider or access to server logs on a site you logged into (look for a match), especially not if you're using a public IP (coffee shop, office location, etc).
Bill is hardly a stranger.
If you're still unconfortable and think the PhD canidate thing is made up to get private data, use archive.org and you can see he was listed as a PhD canidate Feb 1, 2011

wow, it took me almost 15min to find out what this is study is really about!
I didn´t even know that words like "dyadic" and "alexithymia" exist in the German vocabulary, but after I read on wikipedia, that it often occurs in people who are without a partner, without religious affiliation, unemployed and of low socioeconomic status I realized that they were talking about me.
So of course I will take part and I encourage everybody to do so as well. I know Bill and I´m sure those data are safe!
Besides it is an honor to help him to get his Ph.D. degree!
