I thought it was just an excuse for us to get together, and for me to sell raffle tickets.

From the Workshop chairman, Bill Huth:
We have put together a fine set of speakers for our mini-workshop in
Marianna on Saturday, February 23.. The keynote speaker will be Jason
Gulley a cave diver and probably the foremost authority on cave
speleogenesis in the US. His Ph.D. is from the University of Florida
in Gainesville where he worked under Dr. John Martin on their National
Science Foundation funded hydrological observatory on the Santa Fe
River. He will be discussing two of his recent papers on aquatic cave
formation in Florida. Joining Jason is Craig Freeman a Ph.D. from
Florida State University and currently a hydrologist at the Northwest
Florida Water Management District where responsibility for the
Doughtery Karst plain and its hydrology in the Marianna area resides.
We will also hear from Dr. Rodney Dehan, a hydrogeologist with the
Florida Geological survey, who will discuss the research projects and
results from the Woodville Karst Plain south of Tallahassee. Gregg
Stanton will then address research prospects for salt water intrusion
monitoring in the Harvey Cave System and, finally the workshop will
wrap up with a presentation from Edd Sorenson concerning exploration
in the Merritt’s Mill Pond with an emphasis on the Hole in the Wall
System.
After lunch we will regroup at Jackson Blue Spring or workshops in
sidemount, rebreather, and DPV diving and there will also be a bonfire
social at Cave Adventurers Friday night before the workshop.
Please support the NSS-CDS and join us for this event and preregister
at: http://mariannaworkshop.eventbrite.com
Does the registration fee cover the dive fee at Jackson Blue the Saturday of the workshop and are there any breaks (such as the $10 for subsequent days) if one decides to stay and also dive Sunday?
