It does. But I would say the main tunnel is slightly smaller between that crack and the next big spring tunnel, which I think is about a 2,000' distance. A number of people know those distances better than I do, so hopefully they'll chime in at some point here.
Anyhow, it's still plenty big for using DPVs.
what were the conditions like? flow? viz? I dove it last spring/summer when it was super low flow and had an awesome experience (no DPV) and have been wanting to go back.... is it swimable?
Entrance at Friedman was pretty clear and the water was very low. Visibility upstream was around 40-50', though it got progressively worse on return past Friedman and Sue sinks. Flow was pumping as usual.
The line on the left doesn't go anywhere. It was put there by Marc Singer to hang extra gas cylinders on. The right hand side drops down a vertical fissure ("The Crack") and then turns back into phreatic tube at about 80' depth. It is quite small with a lot of clay on the floor for a way (maybe 1000') and then starts to open up as you approach the T at the Syphon Tunnel.
5000 from Friedman sounds about right.
