    Default Indian is closed?

I've heard through the grapevine that Indian Springs has been sold and is closed to diving (or will be closed shortly). Does anyone have the scoop on this?

Indian is one of the best dives out there (maybe THE best) and it would be a real shame to lose it.

Last day of diving Indian will more likely be today. The property across the street owned by the YMCA was sold, and the new owners are leasing the camp. They are interested in diving, but want to understand the process, their liability etc. Hence, they haven't said no to diving, they just want time,so diving is on hold. There has been communication with the owners, and we have assests on board to help through any legal hurdles. For now,be patient, and lets us work at it.

Why did the YMCA sell? Seemed like a great camp site for kids.

Thanks for the update, Kelly. Hopefully something will get worked out!

There's no maybe about it. When you consider depth, access, conditions, etc.... Indian is the best cave dive in Florida.

I am sure this is an issue, but I really wonder how many kids go to camp anymore. With kids being more tech oriented,is there the same attraction for general kid camps like there used to be. When I was 10 that place would have been great, but I didn't have a cell phone,iPod,Wii etc etc.

While you're working on it, could you please explore the possibility of allowing CCR there and abolishing the guide system?
