I received a brand new Shearwater Petrel for Christmas. I already have two Predators so this isn't something I need. First $900.00 gets it shipped to your door (in continental US).

No, it's not BS. As of a price quote today I can get it cheaper than that, honestly significantly less.
I don't get it. You have two orphaned computers, so you want to sell the newest technology? Doesn't add up.

This is the real deal. I can even assure the first with cash can experience it in person.
It is not the most intelligent decision for anyone to post shops advertising products online at less than map. As a former shop owner, I can certainly assure certain people watch this forum for shearwater products and everytime a product is posted as new at below map they will investigate it.
As for the technology, anyone who researches the shearwater line will know, the only difference in the two computers is log book size, display and actual size. I have bad vision and like the OLED screen better than the new one. I have dove a pair of the new ones before they were even available on the open market just as I did the predator and I just don't like them. I think this was an attempt for someone to get my predators out from under me and avoid the 6500 scooter I really wanted. Either way, I am not giving up my computers and now I will have a nice deposit on my new scooter.
Anyway, If you can buy them cheaper go for it. Why waste your time ranting here about it? I have few posts because I spend my time diving. Not many on here will likely see 200 cave dive in their lifetime not to mention per year. I find pride in diving not the number of posts I can muster on CDF!!! Sad to think someone would actually give weight to anything said here based on the number of posts. I guess this would be true if the dicussion was about dive experience. Then the fewer the posts, the more I'd tend to believe it.
