It's up to 2.99 down the street from me, it was 2.74 this morning. I didn't see any here or in Nashville yet that were out of gas, but there may be some.
I never said you guys dont give a ####, all I said was we need to put it in perspective, and my thoughts were with the people who have lost more than gas...
My god, what a response, Im speechless![]()

Sorry for voicing my feelings and opinion, it wont happen again.

Though really getting off topic... I found this heart rending link:

To those traveling South on I-75, there is gas in all stations in Valdosta as of now. I have not seen any stations out of gas and there are no lines at the gas pumps. I have seen some fuel trucks in the area so I would think it is going to be ok. I hope this helps those who plan to travel south to the N.A.C.D. Swapmeet or any other reason.

The fuel situation is a bit of a short run disruption due to a supply shock and a short run demand increase due to price expectations. This is not unlike the proverbial "run" that takes place on banks during downside economic conditions. While there are certainly short run effects from the storm, not much has really changed from the report that was recently developed by the federal trade commission (there has been a release, however, from the petroleum reserve). If you want to understand the mechanics you might look at: http://www.ftc.gov/reports/gasprices...spricesrpt.pdf

A head's up if you're travelling....gas at the 399 exit on I-75 is about 10c cheaper than in High Springs (it's usually the other way around!) and there's a new speed trap on CR340 by the bottling plant.....they just made it 45mph there....so be aware![]()
Safe diving,

Gas is a very serious issue right now. We're finding less and using more. We're witnessing an accelerated supply and demand curve due to this past huricane. We're probably at the top of our oil rich golden days looking forward into more of a plain in tech growth in contrast to previous decades. Did you know that Americans use 10,000 lbs of mined materials per year? Right now I'm trying to think of ways to be less wasteful and prolong our natural resources. One of the most radical things I just did was switch my mode of transportation from 4 wheels to two. I know all you cavers are thinking how are you going to go caving. We'll I've been rachetting my tanks and gear to my bike; it work great. However, the only downside is there isn't enough room for stage bottles and scooters. I guess when you're getting 50 miles to the gal you have to give up some things, at least right now with current conditions and technology. Oh, my last motorcycle dive journey was Cow; it was a very nice dive, low flow and almost blue water with more than enough vis to be happy with.Originally Posted by Kelly Jessop

There are two types of motorcycle riders. Those that have tasted asphalt and those that will. I sure hope you don't have two bombs strapped to your bike when you do dump it....
50 mpg is nice though...I need new tires on my Shadow, but it's not gonna take long for those to pay for themselves now vs. 16 mpg in my truck. But I won't be taking it to cave country.

Fifty? I'm lucky to get much over thirty on my CBR1000. But considering it has more horsepower than my first car...Originally Posted by Limestone Cowboy
And as far as tires are concerned, I paid just about as much for two D-205s for my bike as I paid for four Long Trail T/As for my Blazer!
Oh well, it's only money. The bike's about fifty times more fun than the truck.
