Lets not lose sight of the objective here!
Thanks James for your email. For the record, I received a pmail from another poster, who copied me his letter. It was persuasive and passionate(thanks Gene). When I posted the thread, I really didn't expect much in the way of replies, and was happy to get what I got. I choose to believe that a number of people sent e-mails, but didn't reply. I know I have sent a number of number of emails, and letters in response to other causes championed on this forum, and I never acknowledged that I had sent them.
Please forgive John for getting emotional. Anyone who has grown up with this amazing resource, and fully understands the ramifications of the decisions being made and battles being fought, can't help but become emotional from time to time when thinking about the possibility of losing it. I lost it a little bit at the meeting, and didn't really get all of my points across.
I think what John is trying to say is that this board has no shortage of opinions about some of the most trivial of things, and are quick to voice those opinions in their replies. The silence on conservation issues, and springs protection in general, seem to indicate that they just aren't interested. People have the right to choose their priorities. In fact, Our priorities define who we are as people. It is what it is! I have to say I have been in shock at the complete silence of the NFSA on this issue. Springs alliance groups from Wakulla County, to Orlando have been active in the cause, but Not the NFSA. At least, not to my knowledge. I have a great deal of respect for Kelly, and the hard work he has done in this area, so the silence is baffling.
If you feel like being a part of this endeavor, please send an email. If not, Thank you for at least considering.
I already assume that Jax sent an email.![]()
