    Default Morons

It is amazing to me ( but I'm old ) that we get the most off the wall threads started on these forums, and then zillions of replies, yet we have a very serious subject such as preserving Silver Springs and a whopping total of nine replies. You all are really a pack of slobbering morons!

So you judge a threads worth and effectiveness by the amount of replies? Ok. Maybe that makes you the slobbering moron. Could it be that people, like myself, simply did not want to reply to the tread with "email sent" even when they did in fact send an email. That is after all pretty much all you contributed to the thread. How does coming on here calling someone names accomplish anything? It doesn't. Now I am sure this thread will get some responses, maybe more the the Silver Springs thread. So I guess it will accomplish something. Hmm interesting.

While I agree with you that it is a big issue, maybe people just simply don't have anything to add, or don't know what questions to ask. That does not make them slobbering morons.

And how many have sent a simple e-mail to the state as reqested? As far as I know, not very many! concerning the ridicule, check the inane postings that have appeared on this site. If I only get a couple of people to respond, at least I accomplished something!

Their is no way of knowing how many have sent in. I know I have. Are you sure not many have posted?

I agree that some off the wall stuff is discussed here, but that is the nature of forums. That's what keeps people coming to forums. To insult people simply because they did not reply to a topic is wrong. Yet, as you said, this new thread will probably get at least one more to send in an email.

OK guys, no need to get personal. Everyone has a right to an opinion, but on here nobody has the right to be uncivil.

Is it uncivil to say that he sounds like a big whiny baby who's upset because the forum doesn't act the way he wants the members to act?

Sometimes you have to stir the pot Forest, in order to get action!

Yes, but you didn't call any particular person a moron, on the other hand...

Lets not lose sight of the objective here!
Thanks James for your email. For the record, I received a pmail from another poster, who copied me his letter. It was persuasive and passionate(thanks Gene). When I posted the thread, I really didn't expect much in the way of replies, and was happy to get what I got. I choose to believe that a number of people sent e-mails, but didn't reply. I know I have sent a number of number of emails, and letters in response to other causes championed on this forum, and I never acknowledged that I had sent them.
Please forgive John for getting emotional. Anyone who has grown up with this amazing resource, and fully understands the ramifications of the decisions being made and battles being fought, can't help but become emotional from time to time when thinking about the possibility of losing it. I lost it a little bit at the meeting, and didn't really get all of my points across.
I think what John is trying to say is that this board has no shortage of opinions about some of the most trivial of things, and are quick to voice those opinions in their replies. The silence on conservation issues, and springs protection in general, seem to indicate that they just aren't interested. People have the right to choose their priorities. In fact, Our priorities define who we are as people. It is what it is! I have to say I have been in shock at the complete silence of the NFSA on this issue. Springs alliance groups from Wakulla County, to Orlando have been active in the cause, but Not the NFSA. At least, not to my knowledge. I have a great deal of respect for Kelly, and the hard work he has done in this area, so the silence is baffling.
If you feel like being a part of this endeavor, please send an email. If not, Thank you for at least considering.
I already assume that Jax sent an email.
