There have been several times I was glad the arrows were there. It is pretty easy, especially on a scooter, to loose track of the line, and once you find it again, it is nice to have arrows to confirm you are going in the correct direction.
Agreed, that's why I was trying to point out that while all should be personally verified, they are there for when for whatever reason you haven't verified them or may be temporarily dis-orientated, I won't say lost, I've never been lost, I've always known where I wasn't
Using the logic that an arrow MUST point to an exit that is accessible to open air without needing to place a temporary line would mean that every arrow in Devil's and Little River should be pulled. If a diver hasn't personally verified an arrow's accuracy in relation to his/her dive, that arrow shouldn't be relied on for a safe exit.
Personally verifying arrows is of course the best answer, but I thought the reason for arrows in the first place was for when you weren't sure, or maybe if the **** hits the fan. Other than those reasons, I don't see the need in arrows, I mean if I am always 100% sure of where I'm at, I don't have any use / need for arrows. It may sound silly, but I go by the "if I didn't put it there, then it's suspect" way of thinking.
I need to re-phase my question:
Why aren't the mid way arrows 400' versus being at 700'?
