    Default Scooter stuff

    hey all...
I've been diving the SS the past few days and i'm sure some of you have had similar experiences with the crotch strap putting some unnecessary pressure in certain areas.... ok, i'll just say it, my balls are getting squished, and i can't seem to get the strap adjusted properly... is it just because this scooter has so much power, i don't remember my apollo ever giving me this problem. I know i've talked to a few divers who use the double crotch strap setup instead of the 2" single webbing that comes right between the legs.... any suggestions? The SS people say on their website that the 2" strap is ideal. I need help, this really sucks... i find myself using the free hand to "relieve the pressure" as I'm riding.

I wear my jock strap with cup while scootering with heavy machines... Maybe you should try it...

    OR

You could simply adjust your trim so that it pulls from the waist and not from the crotch.

OMS makes a nice strap "pad" - intended for the shoulders - that works great on the crotch strap.

I put one on after my first use of my new SS - it has kept my "jewels" in working order.....

I've seen some shorten the tether and move the attachment point of the scooter to the harness in the chest region with a lot of success.

That's why I ride a predator, just lay on top and you got that big throbbing machine giving your loins the thousand finger massage. OK off to the garage to lay on the machine with the prop hanging off the workbench. Sid in love

Matt, the answer is very simple. Get a industrial strength, 1" nylon webbed, fur lined thong. Run a strap out of your suit from the lowest point on the thong, and hook up there. It may not relieve ALL of the pressure on the nards, but it will transfer most of it to other somewhat less sensitive areas. Sure, you may walk a little funny when you get out, but what the hell.
If this is not appealing to you, I will also offer to trade my 30 year old lower powered Farallon for the SS, just to relieve you of any discomfort, being the nice gut that I am.

Part of it is also riding technique and exactly where the tow ring is on the strap - if you are presenting excessive drag or the ring is in the wrong place it can pretty radically increase the pressure in the wrong places....

    Default thanks for the concern....

just wanted to thank all you for being concerned with the condition of my jewels... I was thinking that perhaps my crotch strap is too soft... i've been using a halcyon harness and the crotch strap is made of some really soft 2" webbing which doesn't seem to lay flat, it kinda bunches up... i also thought about doing the pad thing, which i actually have a couple of those OMS shoulder pads i'm going to try. I think i'm pretty well stream lined and don't want to mess with adjusting where I attach the scooter nor the config of my equipment....but we'll see...
