    Default Galaxy Dive/New Year's Day Social 2012/13

It's almost time - the event we wait for all year long!

The Cave Diver's Forum will again host a social at Ginnie Springs Outdoors on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. The fun will begin at 7pm, December 31 at one of the Ginnie Spring pavilions. We will have a mini-cookout with hot dogs, chips, and soft drinks, plus a big bonfire leading up to our annual Galaxy Dive at midnight. Then, at 10am on January 1, we will reconvene at the Little Devil pavilion for our big bash, with a huge cookout and door prizes.

Rather than having someone fork out a lot of moolah on the picnic, we are asking everybody who attends to scan the "what to bring" list on the accompanying thread and choose one or two items they want to bring - that way each person only springs for a few bucks.

Marissa is back as co-director of the social, and BobK will resume his role (after a one-year absense) as co-director and chief cook! And I'm sure mfascuba will try to outdo himself as the coordinator of the Galaxy Dive glow-juice!

Also, anybody that is part of a dive shop, we are looking for donations (t-shirts, maps, hats, whatever) for door prizes for the attendees.

Anybody who hasn't attended a CDF Social in the past will want to clear their schedule for this!

Good news from Ginnie's management. This is our latest correspondence from Cathy:

I wanted to get back with you on the New Year’s stuff for the Cave Diver's
    Forum.
I have reserved the New Ginnie Pavilion for you on Monday, December 31st
and the New Devil's Eye Pavilion for you on Tuesday, January 1st, 2013.
The pavilions are available for Forum to use at no charge.
Ginnie Springs is offering your guests the same dive package as last year.
A $30.00 dive fee includes diving on December 31st and January 1st, 2013.
Your guests will be required to pay for that on Monday. They will receive
their car passes and dive bands for both day. The good news is that they
don’t have to stop at the shop on Tuesday.
( Just a reminder that the fee doesn’t include sales tax)...

Have a great weekend and I am sure I will talk with your soon.
    Lookin' forward to it!

Yes, I may really want to, but telling wife I am going to be away on her Dec 31st birthday may not be a prudent long term decision. But it would probably free me up for every CDF Social going forward.

Some one please take a lot of pics....

What times are things happening? Social/Eating at XX and Galaxy dive at Midnight? What time does food need to be there?

    Hey there,

Who's the grill master? I understand that my dive buddy Jcook refused the position today and P1, I'd like to apologize for his selfish behavior, while diving today I gave him the out of air signal and his response was the middle finger and something that sounded like"sucks for you"............

It was upsetting and again I'm sorry for Mr. Cook's response and poor attitude.
