Manatee - 09/01/2012

Did a dive this morning at Manatee...Went in a Freedman's after putting on LOTS of bug spray. Skeets were still crazy at the sink. Swam upstream to Freedman's bypass. Flow was pretty high. Peeked into the sewer tunnel and decided it was too murky. Picked up O2 in catfish. Exiting at main spring was an adventure with the flow up.
Vis was mediocre below Freedman's (specially from Sewer tunnel down). But as always , it was a good dive (SMILE)

P.S. The park was just about empty , as we were the ONLY cavers in the system. There were 2 OW's in Catfish and then the main basin.

Hey Jean -- My family and I snorkeled Jug Hole at Ichetucknee and also encountered less people in general for a usual Labor Day weekend. A month left before Jug opens for diving!
