Did two dives at Little River today. Flow is easing. On the second dive the flow was observably less than just a couple of hours earlier on the first dive. I was also able to make about 200' farther into the cave. Visibility was also degrading on the second dive. On the way out I was able to see the line in the mud tunnel, but not clearly. The basin was still completely clear.

I think right about now would be the perfect time for OFG-1 to step in and deliver a lecture on the deleterious effects of hydrostatic cling--

Agreed. It could be that Mark's observation of the degraded viz on dive two at LR was due to the negative impact of divers on the hydrostatic cling in the cave.

They make a spray for that

We use the sheet version and just attach a sheet to each of our fins.

Sounds like it's getting ready to reverse...

We went last night. Visibility was about 30. Still a good dive.

Ginnie flow is down, easy to swim into the system for Ginnie. The tarp is up and the Eye is open with a "Temporary" but reliable line run to open water. Two very nice dives today. Hill 400 line is only a little smoky. Main line was a little smoky between the jump to the Roller Coaster and the Maple Leaf, reasonably clear farther in from there.

There is a group camping near the Ear on the other side of the Run. If you like metal anger music you will be right at home...

All I can say is that at least you can't hear it underwater.

(Sorry folks-- importing some foolishness from another forum...)

Little River mentioned above seems to swing regularly from moderately strong spring flow to reverse flow (siphoning) when the river rises. I remember someone's video showing a whirlpool above the entrance when the river was high.

Rain does re-charge the aquifer that feeds a spring, but it takes time to travel down through the pores, so the effect isn't instant.
    Thanks!
