I know there are several Man / Wife teams, but how many Father / Son or Daughters cave dive teams are there?

Well many I would assume ? I did my OWD class with my farther back in 2001 and we have then progressed together through trimix and cave - truth be told the last years I have been diving more than he has and have another "main team" for cave diving, but we still enjoy diving together, and I always loves when he joins our cave and wreck exploration projects my first cave exploration dive where I was adding line with my dad was an amazing experience for both of us!

I love diving with my dad, and i can only reccomend it - it gives some great experiences, and makes you spend way more quality time together than you probably would otherwise.

It does require some patience from the farther in the beginning, as a 10-12 year old, will need help handling gear and such. Then when things progress it is now the other way around, and he needs my help once in a while - that really makes me smile

My wreck and cave diving friends always laugh at my farther and I - they have never before seen a farther help pushing his son head first into a small hole in the wreck, because he couldent get in himself at the beginning
Also i wasn't allowed to do trimix dives below 50m without him or a very few selected friends before i turned 18. ( dont know if that was him or my mother who set that limit )

Just remember one thing when diving with your kids - you are diving with them, not for them!! give them the responsibility like with any other diver - you will see that giving them responsibility in this potential dangerous environment will make them much more mature and better at handling problems in the future.

We have a 4 man team consisting of myself, my two sons Josh and Michael and my son in law Scott. My sons and I have been diving together as a 3 man cave diving team for the last 10 years. Some of the most memorable and enjoyable times of my diving career!

My whole family dives, Wife, Son, and two daughters, but it's only open, shallow, warm water kind of diving. Son is turning 17 and badly wants to begin cave diving and I have some concerns about family cave diving. I want to get him the training, I feel he is mature enough, just wouldn't let him dive with almost anyone but me though.
Wife has forbidden it of course

My daughters and I all got our OW together and dove for several years until college drew their time. My oldest daughter got cavern certified with me and we did a few cavern dives, but she stopped there.

When you're there you know there's a There there.

The whole family dives, wife and two college student daughters. Our oldest is looking for a career in/around the water and is working on becoming an instructor. She also has her cavern and when time/studies allow she will finish up her full cave so we can go together.

My son, 17, is my regular OW buddy (we dove Boynton yesterday, in fact) but he's not ready for cavern yet, even if my wife wouldn't oppose it, which she would. My wife's OW certified, but she doesn't really care much for diving (she's an equestrian, and she can't find a scuba rig for her horses). She'll go along with me on an OW dive, but she'd rather not, so she was glad when my son stared diving with me.
