Do keep in mind that if you are using one as a buddy and your back gas is say pumped 104s then one third is more than your total buddy so total gas loss at max would be a problem.

thats why all the Ginnie divers like Rich love the Al72s for buddy bottles. because in ginnie a 30 minute swim in, loss of backgas at max penetration only means a 7-9 minute swim back out in that flow the rule of 3rds in ginnie is quite funny. you use 1/3rd on the swim in...and maybe 1/16th on the way out haha

If you don't know how to manage your gas when solo diving don't do it!!

One should never count on "the flow" to help you....

When I solo, I plan for instantaneous back gas loss at max penetration and being able to get out...
If scootering I plan for loss of scooter also....
...plus I know how much gas it takes me to swim out fom various areas of the cave!!

BTW there's no flow in the back of Mainland, or the Split for that matter
