    Default Yesterday in High Springs

A slow swim down the run and a descent into a hole as round as an eye filled with wonder. Past signs that warn of the dangers. Eager to see the secrets beyond, the flow does it's best to hinder us. However, on this day, we are not to be denied.

In past the Lips, through the Keyhole and the flow finally backs off a bit. Soon we are free of the stage bottles left resting at the bench. Even more streamlined now, the effects of the flow are further reduced.

Before too long, a jump to the left, then a swim up the Hill, and another left. We notice now the flow appears to have gone into hiding. Perhaps it has given up?

Feeling so much freedom and serenity in this newly redarkened passage. Continuing past the jump on the right for a bit, we run a line and push past the EOL. It is low, it is dark, it is quiet, I feel so alive, so focused. At the end of the spool we turn to head back to the intended course. Rewinding the spool, suddenly the caves laughs at the trespassers, a dirty little trick. Silt so thick I can hardly see my light. The line is cricled, I have air, maintain trim. We're in a syphon. Relax. Ahead slow and the cave gives back our vis after a little laugh.

Returning to the Syphon jump, the swimming is now beyond effortless. The cave, is no longer resisting us, now she is beckoning us ever further. Only finning to provide steerage and we glide peacefully onward as a sailboat propelled by a gentle breeze. No effort. Very relaxing and serene. But it cannot be allowed to last, the call of the Syphon can be deceiving, and before we sacrifice the rest of the dive, we turn to go back to the H400 line again.

Swimming with no real sense of urgency we are looking into all kinds of nooks and crannies as suddnely the creatures of the night appear as though dancing in the air on our left. We turn our backs to the winged mammals, not out of fright, but because we taking a Shortcut to a pleasant Rollercoaster ride. The numbers on the line continue to get smaller and the end of the journey is approaching. The dive has been extremely enjoyable.

But now it is our turn for a laugh. A quick check of the gas, and we go past the stage bottles, and through the Keyhole only to circle back through the KH bypass.

With stages resecured, we make our way to the exit.

A most excellent dive with my friend from Quebec!

(BTW, I still have one of your spools 8) )

I think you need a little more deco...the nitrogen build-up has gotten to you.
seriously, thanks for the report with a little flavor....sounds like a dive I did recently (though I didn't hear any laughing).

weird, I was up at the siphon tunnel yesterday afternoon. Ran into a group at the double lines jump...it's odd running into another team like that. Kind of like going to a huge bathroom and ending up using a urinal next to someone else...eye contact not made.
Vis was 40' or so, plenty for those small spaces.

me too, Jeff! If you promise an eloquently written report like this after, I might make the drive sooner rather than later.
seriously, I look forward to aligning our schedules.

What, didn't want your BM buddies to see you in a Razor harness, or was it the other way around?
