Remember, I had you go first in case the line was broken?

The line you are looking for is not knotted and the tie off is not on the right side coming in from the Hill 400 jump. Everything you describe sounds like you went past the entrance you were seeking, and went to the next tunnel and went into the "whale bone" area. It's an easy miss.

When you think you have found the tunnel (directly across from the double arrows on the line leading back to the Syphon Tunnel jump), you will have to go over a small mud hill and drop down into the tunnel and you will see the line tied off immediately on the left.

Rebreathers are something that we have to go to in order to dive the way we want to dive. They are not something we go to for any other reason.

Thanks for pointing this out. What you are saying makes a lot of sense.
and sort of fits in retrospect. I was having a very hard time reconciling the knotted line as I specificlly recalled the line before was without knots.

Spoke to several who have done the DL circuit this weekend, and it seems pretty clear I was not looking a double lines. But some other line that wil require further investigation at some point in the near future.

    Thanks for sharing

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so, in keeping with that axiom, I've gone ahead and posted a short 3 minute video that will show you how to get on to the lower entrance (upstream side) of the Double Lines. It's here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K9Tv_cExlh4

OK. I've been schooled once again.

Thanks Jack, that was nicely done. Maybe I'll get a peek this Saturday.

But now I am even more curious about the line I did find....

Jack - that was great! A personal guided dive from 1 ATA! <G>

I do have to take exception to one statement you made, though... the beginning doesn't have to be a "mess" in backmount .
