    Default Northeast Overhead Environment Diving

I guess the first question is ........ Is there any?

I'd be interested to know if there are any Mines in PA, NY, CT, MA, VT and NH that are worth diving in?

It would be nice to have a place to go to practice, test new gear, fresh water to clean gear, etc

I know I've been in two mines in Vermont but they were high up and the water was COLD......

    Thanks for your help.

If you find any, count me in.

Will do, although based on some of your replies you may be a bit "liberal" for me.......LOL

I live in Manhattan and the one fault is the number of uninformed liberals......

If you're interested in Florida cave diving let me know, I'll be there frequently from september 2012 thru May 1, 2013.

The short answer is YES. However... they aren't anything like Florida. They are low visibility, and cold. There are no tank benches, or hot showers. For the most part, you have to go "dry" caving, just to get to the water.

I'm offended, I pride myself in being a very well read, informed, intelligent liberal!

It's the conservatives that I usually see walking around with their knuckles dragging the ground.

Forrest this year at REACT if you could give me a couple names to contact for IN caves I would be greatly indebted to you.
I would lover to find some caves to explore closer than FL. for weekend trips in the summer up here.
I agree that they will not be like FL but beautiful in their own way.

The biggest concern for me is to find a mentor of sorts for the northern cave environments to speed the learning curve of specifics.
I know that the water is colder and siltier as we are more clay based.
I have been trying to research a local underground river but it runs about 100' below the region I live.
My well is tapped into it actually but finding sinks or points of entry have been non-existent.

Did catch a lead on a cave over about 40 miles but once again tough to find the entry and fear it may just be a pocket.
The well drilling people actually told me of it if I could find a way in they would like their tool back.

Isn't West Rutland closed? Like patrolled and criminal trespass kind of closed? And locals with guns? And no sneaky entry?
