Beware........... A thief resides in fort white

I am a direct witness. The cave diver tried to sell me stolen expensive dive gear... worthless trash this person.... a shame and disgrace... puts "the honor system" so to speak at great risk.

An oxygen booster was offered for $2000 which was about half it's original purchase price. I pretended to be a buyer to lure her into exposing herself and to get the gear out of her hands. I had the police and the owner of the stolen property present at the scene to identify and confiscate the stolen gear. It was basically a "sting" sorta situation. She didn't get arrested because apparently the owner of the oxygen booster had at some point given the thief access to his van. Access... not permission to steal and resell. Fortunately the stolen oxygen booster was recovered. Other gear such as tanks and regs were also stolen from his van were still missing. I thought it was very amusing how she strongly insisted on only receiving cash as payment.

This may work once of twice but if enough people come forward she will be arrested, circumstantial evidence is still evidence the problem is that it needs to be corroborated 2-4 times before an arrest will be made, but keep calling the law enforcement agency that confiscated the property.

Its easy to shelve a case that no one cares about so be persistent.

The cave diving community is very small. I cant believe this person thought this could go on undetected. Once ostersized your done! Very sad to hear this.

even though the community is small it appears this has been going on for a long, long time with her. I think if everyone posted who has stuff "missing" around her we'd all be surprised at the number of victims.

I know this person and none of this makes any sense. I haven't seen her in over a year but this isn't consistent with the type of person she is. She wouldn't steal. Would she talk a big game? Well actually that sounds like her. Why don't you ask the best female cave diver to walk the planet? Sounds like they dive for time to time together.. If cave diving is as close knit as everyone says it is maybe she could shine some light on the subject...

In my opinion, bad karma is about the worst thing you can take with you back in a cave. That's one of the many reasons I'm an honest person.
