    Well said. A recommendation was sought and you provided your opinion in a classy way. Thanks for not contributing to the occasional mud-slinging that goes on here.

I gave both people a list of the shops I use and what I use them for. For example I use one shop for instruction, but when I need a random piece of minute equipment like a specific bent dring or something I use another because they stock more hardware than Rennaker. I also included shops that in my opinion it's best to stay away from and for some shops what to be very careful of if you use them.

    As a business owner myself, I understand that not every single one of my clients is always happy. I'd love to think that every single one of my clients loves me, but the truth is no matter how hard I try someone may leave unhappy. I would hate for that one person to then go spew all over the internet why they don't like my office. I'm not sure if you guys know, but this internet stuff stays around for a long time. So out of common courtesy to other business owners I am keeping my opinions in PM to the two people that asked. I know of 2 business owners locally that check this forum reguarly and I have nothing but good things to say about them. But there's also a lds owner that checks this forum often whom I wouldn't send my worst enemy to.

    I don't see it as secret, but as an open discussion between two people as opposed to 100s in order to be courteous. Who's to say my reasoning for disliking one particular shop isn't more my issue than the shop's? Then this will become a 5 page rant on shops.

    IMO, safe breathing gas is FAR more important than hurting someones feelings; or even their business.
    If I had some inside information about dangerous fills(and had concrete proof), I'd absolutely share in public. Everything I said was matter of my opinion or good/bad experiences I had that don't need to be made public. Safety vs opinions are two different things.

    Thanks Bil. We met you a couple weeks ago at JB while we were taking a SM class with Edd. I was the guy that knew a shop down this way that booked with you for the O. Nice meeting you.

    I simply noted that I PM'd people in the case that they were like me and rarely logged in and wouldn't have known they were PM'd. I'll think twice next time.

    How's that new shop in Palm Harlem?

    Just to be clear. The reasons are I seeking alternatives have nothing to do with me not trusting the current shop with respect to gas mixes or my safety. It is a personal issue between two adults that cannot come to an agreement on certain actions. If it were a matter of safety towards others, I would have addressed it far more differently.

    @rddvet

    I'd be very interested in that PM too. Thanks.

    I'm moving to Palm Harlem! in a few weeks. I've been spoiled living in Gainesville, but would like info on a good technical dive shop in northern Pinellas.
