Planning trip to England & Ireland. Will probably not be able to finish full cave before I leave. Are there many sites open to intro level? If so, where? Where can I rent doubles in each country? I BM.
Thanks.
Neil

I've never been cave diving in England, used to do a bit of dry (damp!) caving there.
Far as I know cave diving as it's done in Florida doesn't exist in England. Most/all is cold water ,crappy viz, sumps. Generally quite a bit of dry caving to get there.
Read "The Darkness Beckons" by Martyn Farr, then decide if you still want to dive there!
Look, all you need to know is the difference between ale, larger and stout. The rest is not important.

Under the rocks, and stones; there is water underground" Talking Heads
HaHa I was born there.... I was raised on stout.... Can't wait to get a real pint of Guinness.... Been dreaming about it for years.
Had to move to Florida to contract this hideous cave diving disease... Don't know what's available back there. I do however have a few treasure hunting dives planned.
Stout is part of the reason for my stoutness.
Hi Boru, there are many freshwater caves in Ireland and some great sea caves off Doolin (west coast) called the Green Holes. VERY weather dependent for entry. The freshwater caves are often challenging in terms of vis (one metre would be excellent) Jim Warny is the best man to talk to on the Irish cave diver forum (I'll mention you need info). Also have a look at the site of http://arturconrad.blogspot.ie/ - sadly Artur died during an exploration dive last year but his blog is full of info about cave diving here.
In the UK there are many active groups but Martyn Farr (farrworld.co.uk) is highly respected and knows all the sites. There are more flooded mines to explore around Wales and central England that might interest you.
Hope that helps,
Aaron
