Got your PM. Ill be there sat and sun. Im thinking I can float my SM RIG, tanks attached up the run, instead of carrying it, maybe my wetsuit too. Worth a try anyway. So far I have 3 cavers that might show up so looks like Im not dragging gear down for nothin. Kayaks, bikes and grill will complete the weekend. Wifes choice but not a bad one since most other sites are blown.

Well be there close to 8. I have been there once probably 15 years ago but didnt dive it. I got PM'S from Metaldector and Herbie and had 2 other maybes or pretty sures. I hated to go down and no one lined up to dive with, that wont be the case now cool.

Nice diving with Stairman and Chris once we got all the logistics worked out. Blue springs was what it normally is. Water level is up a lot since the last time I was there.

Yea nice divin with you Curt. Im usually pretty organized but not ever being there and the parking problems I had because of the trailor got things off to a slow start. Definetely not worth dragging 2 tanks down there but glad I got to dive it at least once. That damn train whistle woke me up twice camping there and then a possum in the trash but nice float and frollic in the run on Sunday. I think today was latinio day with all the salsa music blarein I had to get outta there and the brattiest kids Ive ever saw, I thnk dealin with drunks at Ginnie is easier.

It is an experience! That is the whys and the what for that has us locals getting there at 7:50 AM to be in a gone by 10:00am. I hope the north Florida springs open soon I really need to get up there. Looks like the first weekend in Aug so maybe at least Ginnie will be open and we can get a real cave dive in.

Is that the one that is basically a shaft that ends in a grate with a large flow blowing you out? If it is, I remember back in 2006 (before I even knew what cave diving was), some friends and I were moving some stuff from FL to MD. We packed some dive gear and decided to hit some springs along the way. We hit that one. It was July and I remember the walk along the boardwalk up to the put-in spot. It was miserably hot. But the ride back after the dive down the run was really nice and relaxing I hadn't been back since, but remember it was kinda fun. I also remember the locals free diving down to 30+ feet. Was comical.

There is no grate but there was a large rock that plugged the vent for years. There is plenty of room to get through the vent now but the flow is still tremendous. As far as I know no one has been successful passing the vent, but TJ would know better than I.
