Vortex, Twin, and Hole in the Wall... Twin and Hole you can't walk up to... but the means of reaching them are as easy as pie with Edd on the Mill Pond.



Eagles Nest is a funny thing... access is easy and not controlled, but it really shouldn't be dived by people who aren't Full Cave and Trimix cert'd as well as having some experience in diving with both.

Geez since so many seem to take offense with the term "tourist cave" it is simple. A tourist cave is one that is generally open and known for all to dive, has gold line, and has the lines maintained. It is not meant as a slight or to imply that it is an easier cave compared to "non-tourist". Most don't generally speak openly of the non-tourist caves for multiple reasons such as access, conservation, difficulty in both getting to the cave and the cave environment, etc.

I'm a tourist cave diver and go in both types of systems. It is a simple way of defining the common caves that most all of us know about.

Well, it's clearly meant to be a pejorative comment on those of us fortunate enough not to have to live in the economic backwaters of Northern Florida, but given how much better my life is, I don't see much point in complaining... sheesh, with bad restaurants, no entertainment, insects and nothing to do except cave diving, if it makes people there a litte happier to call us "tourists", so be it...

Well Andrew, I am native Floridian (originally from Tampa Bay) who has lived in New York City, LA and other assorted places and I decided to move back here 17 years ago and I'm still quite happy with my decision.
Granted, I travel a lot for my work but I do not miss the traffic or crowds on the 405, LIE, etc. (And I can just jump in my car to go cave diving not to mention not having to worry about bogus gun laws....)
