Great report, sounds like an adventure regardless of not finding the spring itself.

Great report! Those coordinates were from the street view in Google Maps.
Bummed you couldn't find passage.
I'll bring climbing appropriate footwear and a buddy here in the near future.
Now have to dodge a plumbing project just added to the Honey-do list.
I thought that big bag of scallops I brought back would have done it for longer than a day....
Danseur,
Did your buddy have any other information about the spring? Can he show you where it is?
He showed me on the map, (exactly where you were) but next time he's coming with! May have been canoe cave, but we'll see...
Good luck, I hope that I overlooked it somehow and you find going cave. I put a couple of pictures in the gallery but I can't seem to figure out how to insert them into the thread.

My name is Shirley Kasser Creech and I approve this message. Well, at least one of me does, anyway. Maybe. Fire. Sharp things. Squirrel!
Shirley you're not serious? No, I'm not, but do stop calling me Shirley.
Any body still looking for the springs? My brother in law lives in Franklin, WV. And another friend up there has told me about some caves or springs. Told me about a spot I can't remember where he or someone was diving up there. I have to check next time when I'm up that way on Friday.
Hey, this has been a fun read. I just finished Jill's Side Mount book and am pretty sure sump diving isn't my thing, even if I had the training for it. However, nothing prevents me from helping out in exchange for hanging around experienced people and learning a lot.
Are there springs in WVa/Va that are diveable? We just moved to the Radford/Blacksburg area and NFL seems so far away...
