I'd do essentially the opposite, on OC I'd dive the stages and leave the doubles alone. If it was going to be a 2 or 3 stage dive for me on OC I'd expect the CCR diver to bring about 66% of the gas I had in stages.

When I first started training, the word was to NOT dive mixed teams.....that mindset evolved soon after and developing plans to dive mixed teams has been evolving ever since. In a mixed team, I assume the OC diver will be the defining amount of gas or turn the dive first and carries the same Third gas as they would if the buddy was OC. The CCR diver carries twice that as bailout gas.

    9/11....... I remember .........

Consider this the start of my "adequate training". As someone who is getting into rebreathers, I'd like to hear ALL opinions on this issue and any other issue, get training on the subject, and then draw my own conclusions.

Plus enough bail out for OC team member. Assuming 2 man team.

Suggest long hose on at least one bottle.

OC members need a brief understanding on what can go wrong on RB and what actions the CC diver will take. Also what actions OC diver can do to help.

    Hope this helps.
