That is an awesome offer, I'm going to take you up on it.

    All--
If this germinates nicely there will be other things to do beyond what one person can do alone. I don't have anything specific to ask for right now but if you're of a mind to pitch in, there will undoubtedly be some todos that can be handed out.

Just as a teaser... I've got a preliminary okay on our venue

Oy-- you let the cat out of the bag for me, I was trying to build some suspense here!

All, yes: it seems that we'll be having Cave Diver Day at Mammoth Lake on Saturday, June 23rd. I hope everyone will give Ryan a big thanks for agreeing to this. The details are still being worked out, but a special welcome will be put together and I understand that this will include food and drink. I think there is a possibility that other drink arrangements may be in the cards as well, for those of you who concern yourselves with such nonsense.

The website I mentioned should be ready for launch soon, I'll make an announcement once it gets a little more polishing.

Awesome, I have time to plan to NOT be in a class that weekend. I'm in! Maybe we need to reserve some sites!?!? Ryan is really busy lately. I may plan to come Friday and Camp too. Hes got some awesome new camper slabs with water /elec hookups if anyone wants to roll in that way.

We will definitely have our own area, but one thing that was mentioned is that if a lot of people end up coming, we may need to bring our own chairs. The sign-in sheet on the site will help in keeping up with that in addition to the food demands. If bringing chairs does become necessary, I'll put an announcement up on the site and put some posts out too.

In case I made the announcement more inconspicuous than I meant to, the site is up and running now, you can get to it at www.houstonareacavedivers.com

    Eric,

How is the food being handled? will there be a meal fee in addition to the diving/camping fee or does enveryone need to plan to bring stuff? Plates, napkins, cups, drinks, condiments, etc.... I do this nearly every weekend for our group "Just Us Divers" so I know what a hassle it is to think of everything. Its never too early to be laying the groundwork. It'll be here before you know it.

Is Clute in a dry county? Will alcohol be allowed on site post dives? Should be communicated either way.

Let me know if I can help with anything.

Steve, I was planning on having the pit on the back deck fired up and cooking some bbq, burgers, or dogs. I am open to whatever people would like. At this point it is still very early in the planning stage, i would like to get a feel for how many folks we will be hosting before we hand out items for people to bring.

It dosen't cost anymore to go first class....you just cant say as long
