    Crying Lost Arrow At Ginnie

First day of full cave class, and I break a major rule - Don't Litter The Caves.

One of my arrows fell off my light, came back 1 arrow short.

We started at Little Devil Steps, thru the Ear to the Keyhole, then jumped right to the tunnel that goes SE to the Boneroom. Then jumped left into the tunnel that heads NE back to the Mud Flats. Couple hundred feet past the second jump, turned on conservative 1/3'ds and pulled out the reels and markers.

    One arrow missing.

If anyone finds a white plastic arrow with the initials "GLS" please pick it up for me.

And as penance for littering, if you can prove you found my arrow by identifying the markings cut into it's edge for tactile identification, I will donate $20 in your name to the cave charity of your choice.

    Again, sorry for littering.

I think I came across that today. There was an arrow hooked on the mainline in the Cornflakes by only one of the slits. I secured it on the mainline. I do believe it had GLS on it. If you're heading into the cave it may not be as visible as when on exit.

I won't be back to Ginnie for week or so, but if it's still there I'll grab it.

If it wasn't clipped in well, you should have taken it so it doesn't litter. IMO the fact that you left trash there and didn't do anything about it is just as bad as leaving it in the first place.

FOUND! Dove Ginnie today as part of two 2-diver teams. Told team about the arrow in pre-dive. Lead diver, Brian Latuga, spotted the arrow and picked it up.

Mer is the original finder.... So what donation would you prefer? NSS-CDS, NACD, NFSA? Sludge's next party?

    Thanks, Gary Schaut

She secured it to the line so it wouldn't wander off...
